Self guided self catered option

The Fynbos trail is excited to have launched its self guided, self catering option with a brand new circular route that takes you back to the start.   A recent guest who chose this option (with the added option of portaging) sums up her experience with the following feedback:

Hikers on The Fynbos Trail

‘As someone who has been privileged to do “big” hikes such as Kilimanjaro and Aconcagua, I can vouch that the Fynbos trail was one of the nicest gems of a trail I have done in a long while! Conveniently close to Cape Town to break away for a weekend from a stressed life and to land in a world filled with unbelievable specimens of fynbos, bird life and  comfortable, walkable hills! And the luxury of a warm, soft bed and a warm shower together with not carrying a 20kg back pack is out of this world!!  I have already told some friends of this gem and will spread the word although a bit reluctantly, as I almost would like to keep this secret to myself!!’

The Fynbos Trail is a unique nature experience in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom that can also be undertaken as a fully guided and catered slackpacking trail or as a self-guided and self-catered trail.

This trail, just two hours from Cape Town and close to Hermanus Overberg (between Stanford & Gansbaai), has a two or three night option and takes hikers along a beautiful stretch of trail through coastal and mountain fynbos, remote forests and visits some fascinating environmental and social projects along the way.
