'Thank you all for an amazing few days in one of the most beautiful biospheres in the world. We all had a great time with good exercise, awesome guiding and knowledge, great laughs and tasty food. The whole journey had many highlights – swimming in the cave, hiking to the top of Ben Nevis, and learning so much about nature. We all came away saying that was food for the soul.'
Robbyn Moir

'We so enjoyed our time on the trail. It was such an amazing experience to see the vast richness of plants and trees and to catch a feeling of your vision for the whole coastal area. Billy was the best guide and we are still talking about the inter-relatedness of plants, animals and insects which he explained so well. You were more than generous inviting us into your home with the wine tasting and stories of your home production! Michelle's delicious dinner made for a very happy evening together.'
Alice Halliday

'Thank you so much for the simply wonderful Fynbos Trail. We loved it - it was one of the best things we have ever done! The work you are doing on the reserve with the flowers, the farm, the conservancy and the educational side is completely mindblowing! Billy was a fantastic guide - a lovely character and so knowledgeable with a great love of nature. Thank you also for welcoming us all into your home and for the delicious potjie pots and choccy dessert. It was a truly memorable three days. We will definitely recommend the trail to our friends and family if they visit SA.'
Anna Beatty

'Many thanks to all of you for this fantastic experience! The whole arrangement was very well and carefully planned with good walking trails, fine accommodations and very delicious food. Nina's organization was perfect! Billy's guiding was really very excellent. He has a good knowledge of both the flora and fauna of the fynbos. We felt he was deeply rooted in this part of Western Cape and could tell a lot of interesting and humorous stories. Your book, Sean, will refresh our memory when looking of all our photos as well as learning more of the fynbos flora. Also, your catching enthusiasm gave us a desire to stay longer and learn more about all the projects. The wine tasting and dinner in your home, Sean and Michelle, was great and real hospitality. In the end the grand finale with a fine dining lunch at Grootbos Nature Lodge! For us coming from northern Europe it was especially interesting walking through the fynbos. Wishing all of you the best luck for the future, we really hope to be back sooner than later.'
Ulla & John Lindskog

'We are all still smiling from our few days with you all – it was truly memorable. We so valued your personal and personalised touches, accommodating various needs as they arose. You are remarkable in the ways you are putting the best understanding of sustainable development into practice. With our warm appreciation, The Solidaritree Collective!'
Shirley Walters

'Just to say we had a fabulous hike. We enjoyed every minute. The organisation was world class and how our teas, lunches, trees and transport (miraculously) appeared was amazing. Billy was a brilliant guide. He kept us entertained and informed for the full duration of the hike. His knowledge and understanding of the Fynbos and insects was amazing. His explanations of the inter relationships between plants, insects, the topography and soil types opened our minds and eyes to the incredible beauty of this area. Hiking without a Billy would be like walking in the dark. He shone a light on the whole experience. Thank you Billy – we had such fun. Sean your book and our chats with you was definitely the icing on the cake – Thank you!! Thanks for accommodation our idiosyncrasies and adapting your hike for us - it is much appreciated. Nina, thanks for all the administration and other tasks you did (in the background) which often go unnoticed. Michelle – On the Sunday - thank you for opening your home to 5 hikers – the tea and cake was yummy. You have a (most) beautiful home. I will watch the growth of my tree with interest and have already committed to bringing my grandchildren to see it once they are old enough. Thank you all for making our hike so special. But more importantly for managing and protecting this piece of paradise so my grandchildren can also enjoy it – sometime in the future. We wish you every success with the Fynbos trail – it was a humbling experience to have taken part. Thank you for the genuine friendship of all the Fynbos team.'
Arie van Esch

'The hugest thank you for such a special experience. There are few words to describe how awesome the Fynbos Trail was: from start to finish. You have put together a truly beautiful, authentic experience. Thank you.'
Vanda Forssman

'We all had a wonderful time on the Fynbos Trail last weekend! Thanks for all your organising to accommodate our group’s needs -your team was great with the logistics and transport. We loved the new wood fired hot tub after the long day’s hike!'
Barbara Gurwitz

'Thank you so much for the incredible trail Sean, Nina and the rest of the team. Awesome trail, food, hospitality, etc. We had so much fun and will definitely be back in your area again.'

Janine MacPhail

'Thank you so much... We felt at your place as being home and we also fell in love with the Fynbos nature. The trail and meeting so many lovely people connected with nature was our best experience of our this year´s trip. Hope to see you soon again.'
Corinna & Wolfram

'Thank you to all of you, for a wonderful bonding happy laughing swimming fishing walking learning three days. We loved the diversity of the walk, our fabulous and very entertaining guide, and the treats at both venues (Pizzas and tastings). And of course the grand treat at Grootbos at the end. Thank you all for spoiling us and best wishes for continued success.'
Bridget Woods

'Thank you to the whole Fynbos Trail team for such a special experience! It was all so well put together and so well managed that it will always be memorable for me.'
Liz Hodges

'Thank you all very much for making the Fynbos Trail memorable – Nina’s organisation was perfect, Billy and Christoff are both great guides and we appreciated the knowledge that they shared with us so willingly. Your book, Sean, will eliminate any excuses we have for our lack of Fynbos knowledge going forward. I thought the accommodation was exactly what was needed and the catering was all fantastic (a special thanks to Michelle for that). The area in which you live is truly unique and very beautiful. We had no idea about the forests, clear streams, and spectacular waterfalls hidden along a relatively drab stretch of road. I am sure many of us will return.'
Lesley Harvey

'Thank you so much for an absolutely epic trail. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our time on the trail and at your great accommodation. We look forward to doing it again sometime and I am sure our kids will definitely do it as soon as their kids are old enough. Will spread the word!'
Roger & Penny Krohn

'We had a fantastic time with you guys and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Round House, the influx of knowledge and fun from Christoff and Billy, the hospitality and kindness of Perdita and Jan followed by you, Kosi and Shadow! We were made so genuinely welcome, fed far too much delicious scoff and absolutely loved it. Thank you all. For me it really was a Great Escape!!'
Fi Skennerton

'We had an awesome weekend on the trail - the kids really enjoyed it and Billy particularly was great. Thank you so much.'
Osborne Family

'Thank you all for a truly stunning weekend. Billy was a great guide with a huge knowledge of all that grows in the area. He also had a good sense of humour and had a few stories up his sleeve. Michelle and Sean your hospitality was wonderful, you really know how to make your guests feel at home. As if we weren’t spoiled enough on Saturday the delicious meal at the Grootbos Reserve was the cherry on the top.'
Jayne & Gerald Stark

'Thank you for an awesome experience...came back feeling very refreshed and blessed. Thank you for opening your farm to us, and also for all the hard work towards conserving places like your farm. Incredible to see such ancient trees and also the beautiful fynbos.'
Jo Wiley

'Thanks to you and your team. An absolutely fantastic trip. Loved it.'
Greg Simmons

'I was a bit uncertain whether this trail would be all fynbos and a bit boring but it was actually extremely varied, very beautiful and made interesting by the 2 guides we had whose knowledge of the flora & fauna was encyclopaedic. The accommodation was great and we were made to feel most welcome, with nothing being too much trouble.'
Clare Mortimore

'Thank you so much Sean and Michelle for a fabulous experience and warm hospitality. Hope to return sooner rather than later.'
Annelize Marrison

'What a fabulous weekend you gave us all... the Fynbos Trail will never be forgotten. Billy was amazing, hauling me up some of the mountains and then of course his unbelievable knowledge of everything in the Grootbos Nature Reserve. I have had quite a few chats this morning and have definitely spread the word, not only to my children but to some of my “young” friends as well. What more can I say ..... I wish you every success Sean. Thank you for your lovely book, read it into the night as did my mates.'
Audrey Hoyle

'Thank you all so much for our idyllic “trail blazing” with the best guide ever, we loved every moment of it and will spread the word..... I love the book and will make good my promise to learn as many tree and plant names as I can jam into my head. With all the best wishes and so hope we may repeat our visit before we “can’t make it !!'
Vicky Thompson

'Thank you so much for a fabulous couple of days. You have really done amazing work and I hope your projects grow from strength to strength. We were all so impressed with the hospitality and the effort that has gone into making the Fynbos Trail one of the best. To end up with lunch at Grootbos was a real treat!'
Gill Ginsberg

'Thank you both and Billy for a very wonderful trail. We so enjoyed learning more about the fynbos region and beautiful plant species. We found the trail educational and lots of fun and thoroughly enjoyed our meals especially the potjie!'
Gertje and John Strachan

'A special thank you for making our weekend so fun-filled and entertaining. I know that the other ladies will agree that it was a very special time spent at a very special place, with very special people. I came back full of awe, having gained some knowledge (if only a tiny amount) of the glorious fynbos right on our doorstep. Sean and Billy, your enthusiasm was so catchy that your visitors would have to be dead not to become enthralled too. Take care and keep up the enthusiasm. You make us very Proudly South African!'
Wendy Bloomer

'We all thoroughly enjoyed our hike on the Fynbos Trail. Your whole team’s hosting of our group was one of the highlights of our trip. In addition, being guided added a great deal to the hike – changing it from “just a hike” to a few days that were extremely interesting, leaving us with more knowledge of a part of the world previously unknown to us. We wish you and your team success for the future and pray that your conservation and sustainability messages are spread far and wide.'
Ian Barker

'I know you want us to tell people about your Fynbos Trail but I don’t want anybody to know about this “secret get-away. ”It was a magical 3 days and one of the best and most organised hikes I have ever done. The extensive milkwood forests and the different fynbos sections made me realize there was more to fynbos than I thought. Hearing about compressed sand dunes and limestone soils and the geology of the area was also very interesting. Every stop had another surprise and the people we met along the way were really friendly. The accommodation was very comfortable and the food provided was delicious and more than enough. Christoff our guide was fantastic. He had all sorts of stories on how to survive in the bush and which plants we could use for certain ailments. We all had wilde els (worm wood) sticking out of our ears and noses at one stage (hilarious)! Thanks again and again, and will definitely be seeing you again.'
Renee Duggan

'Just a brief note to thank you for what was a stunning trail experience. I cannot thank Christophe enough for his on going commentaries and for elucidating us on all the magnificent fynbos we passed on our daily trails - also for his patience and forebearance with slow coaches like myself. For a trail runner of his agility it must be difficult slowing down to a snail's pace especially on the uphill sections. I loved each and every day from the coastal add on to the last day which ended at the Groot bos hotel - that swim was magical! Thanks to Steve for the organisation, for Michelle for the delicious food (we felt thoroughly spoilt by your culinary skills and your attention to detail!) and of -course to Christophe our wonderful guide. Hopefully I can get a group together in the NOT too distant future to do the trail again - one misses so much when one is sweating in out and arguing with the hills.'
Jacquie Spiers

'Thanks again for a most memorable trip, and Michelle to you in particular for the innovative and lovely food. This experience will live with us for a long time. Been telling all my friends that the Fynbos Trail is the best activity they can do.'
Mike Lewis

'A fantastic trail, well organised, wonderful people on the team, diverse and interesting terrain, far beyond expectations. One of the best hikes I have been on!'
Carlo Costa

'Thank you for a superb trail experience over the past weekend. Your generosity was remarkable and so very much appreciated. We felt completely indulged by your generous sharing of your wealth of knowledge and experience, Sean; and superbly taken care of by your joint careful and thoughtful planning of the whole trail experience. Thank you both for opening your home, hearts and minds to us all, as well as sharing your corner of paradise. Thank you too to Matthew and Emma for being so welcoming and warm to us all.'
Frances & John Whitehead

'Thank you so much for your truly wonderful hospitality on your magnificent trail. Our group has done a lot of hiking together over the years and this past weekend's experience - scenery, information, food, comfort and companionship - has really been right up there with the very best. It was fantastic! Thanks too for the gifts of seeds and honey, which we are already making very good use of.'
John Yeld

'Thank you for our time on the beautiful Fynbos Trail, and your personal touches which make it so good. We enjoyed it all, especially the variety and surprises around every corner. It was really great!'
Kay & Garth Daneel

'What a wonderful experience the Fynbos trail is. We thoroughly enjoyed our trail and it was lovely to meet you and your family.'
Sue Conninghum

'All in all it was a truly outstanding excursion through the fynbos at its finest, over hill and dale – forests over 1 000 years old – waterfalls, streams, lovely rickety bridges and incredible views towards Cape Agulhas and back towards Cape Point – the bays of Walker, Betty’s and False and the mountains overlooking them. The scents of the myriad plants and the earth combined with the visual splendour and the exceptionally good company amounted to an absolute assault upon the senses that left us breathless (the ascent of the hills added to that sensation). Our accommodation was clean, comfortable and, while not 5*, very, very adequate and quite in synch with the nature of the whole experience; the company and the buzz over meals and drinks added to the whole feeling of this being a very special experience – not the least of which were the knowledge, affability and communication skills of our guides who certainly re-affirmed my love and awe of nature and the symbiotic reliance of life on this planet (it’s just us humans who muck it up…).'
John Gomes

'Thanks for a wonderful trail led by such a 'simpatico' team of 'real' people. Each one of us brought home such good energy from our experiences, plus so much information of our beautiful Cape surrounds. All due to YOU! Do hope we can return, but will certainly recommend the trail to others! Best wishes on your endeavour. It is so comforting to know people like you are out there looking out for our country.'
Dana & Owen Dean

'Hi Sean and Michelle and the Fynbos Trail Team, We were unanimous in our feeling that the Fynbos Trail was a special experience for all of us. You have managed to combine a professionally run offering with a personal and individual touch. Thank you for the opportunity of spending time with you all in the reserve. We all really enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely sing your praises and wish you continued success with your projects there. From the: ‘It’s All About Us’ Team J'
Tracy Farquar

'Thanks it was a lovely hike and very much enjoyed it. Seeing Fynbos with a different eye now thanks to the wealth of information shared by our two great guides.'
Saskia Veldhuis and Bryan Thomas

'Thank you both so much for a wonderful few days hiking the Fynbos Trail. I enjoyed it immensely. It was especially good to have Sean and Billie as guides. I learnt so many fascinating extras about the Fynbos and the environment. It was a special treat for me. The flowers and the Fynbos were amazing! The food was equivalent, in my book, to gourmet meals. You certainly went the extra mile as far as feeding us was concerned. I know it takes a lot of hard work and organising. It is much appreciated. Thank you too for your very generous gift of the Grootbos Nature Reserve Book which is so beautifully written and illustrated. It is a real gem! Not to forget the jar of honey we were given before leaving the Grootbos Lodge after another delicious meal. All in all a wonderful few days. I hope to bring my family along in the not too distant future as I am sure they will love it. '
Olivia Plowden

' We had a wonderful three days on the Fynbos Trail. It really is a magical experience. As I wrote to our daughter in Johannesburg this morning: The fynbos is magnificent (I have never seen so many leucospermum bushes before, but there were lots of other beautiful plants to see too), the organisation was efficient and effective, the accommodation was very comfortable, the catering was excellent, all the staff we met were friendly and helpful and the guides were outstanding. Please convey our thanks to Perdita, Jan and their staff at The Fynbos Retreat; to the delightful young man who transported our lunch on Wednesday and helped us to plant trees; to your own staff at Witkrans who were very much behind the scenes; to the staff at Grootbos who welcomed a very wet and muddy booted group into their smart lodge; and a very special thanks to Billy Robertson for a most interesting and humerous guiding experience. Our thanks to you too Sean for taking the time to act as our guide on Tuesday afternoon. It was a very special introduction to The Fynbos Trail. Michelle, a big thank you to you too for all the admin and organising behind the scenes and for your mouth watering catering for twelve hungry hikers on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.'
Peter Hart

'It is very difficult to put into words just how magnificent this hike was. Our two guides were so well informed and the many delightful stories related were all insightful. We were left with a heightened awareness of the cycle of life and our unequivocal interdependence. The Fynbos Trail is not just a hike it is a life experience.'
Sue Frew

'Thank you so much for such a well organised & enjoyable weekend, one that will always be remembered.'
Christine Sadler

'Absolutely loved the hike. Have been singing its praises to anyone who will listen. Thanks for everything. Will see you again.'
Maureen Slabber

'As someone who has been privileged to do “big” hikes such as Kilimanjaro and Aconcagua, I can vouch that the Fynbos trail was one of the nicest gems of a trail I have done in a long while! Conveniently close to Cape Town to break away for a weekend from a stressed life and to land in a world filled with unbelievable specimen of fynbos, bird life and comfortable, walkable hills! And the luxury of a warm, soft bed and a warm shower together with not carrying a 20kg back pack is out of this world!! I have already told some friends of this gem and will spread the word although a bit reluctantly, as I almost would like to keep this secret to myself!!'
Lizl Davel

'Wow, this trail is absolute value for money. Top class catering all the way through and accommodation extremely comfortable. We were fortunate enough to also enjoy the coastal add on morning - no whales for this time of year but we'll be back to do it again. Thank you Michelle for all your attention to detail throughout the trail. We loved Sean and Billy our extremely knowledgable guides.'
Sue Thomas

'Just to thank you for the most wonderful hike on the Fynbos trail. I cant find words to describe it. Spectacular describes it all. The scenery, perfectly organised, the guideing, the food, the company, just everything. It was stunning and we loved every minute of it. What is so nice is that at 72 we can still manage to get out there and walk in the fynbos. Thank you for the book (which was really special).'
Ken Thomas

'Many thanks for a very well organised trail. I have been on quite a few slack packing trails and this one must rank as one of the best. Thoroughly enjoyed every second. '
Dorothy Franz

'Many thanks for a fabulous experience – The Fynbos trail was super. Your hospitality is awesome, the setting superb, the kindness appreciated! '

'Uit die hart uit: Baie dankie dat julle ons die afgelope paar dae ontvang, getrakteer en op die stap pad begelei het. Dankie, vir jul hartlike vriendelikheid. Dankie dat julle ons telkens oor die natuur en ons Skepper laat verwonder het. Ek en die ander het die stap inderdaad as 'n spirituele retreat beleef.'
Thinus en Driekie, Salie en Louisa

'I've done a lot of hikes and I always have a fantastic time, but Fynbos trail has been a very special experience. It was such a privilege to be able to share in Sean and Billie's vast knowledge of the area and the incredible beauty of the trail. Sean’s book is a wonderful keepsake. Michelle, I love your attention to detail and the gracious way in which everyone involved has welcomed us and taken care of all our needs. Even poor Dale has kept it together when Jane wanted to trade him for honey!! The poor guy will never be the same again. Billie might also need a little holiday. Thank you for making your corner of paradise available to us to enjoy. '
Louise Wileman

'I would just like to say a very big thank you to you and your team for THE most amazing hike I have done. It was a dream come true and more than met expectations. Your knowledge and means of communicating to us 'townies' was amazing and so inspiring. It's great to know that such amazing things are being done amidst all the doom and gloom. Its certainly something to hang on to. What a way to walk, NO COOKING at the end of the day. '
Judy Sage

'Allow us to thank you very, very much for an absolute wonderful experience on the Fynbos Trail. The scenery was awesome . The walking was not to tough - except for maybe the afternoon of the second day. The food was most excellent, also that beer at lunch, so were the facilities. Our regards and thanks to Jan, Perdita, Paula and Francisco for their hospitality. '
Frans Nel and Family

The weekend was not only educational but so well planned and executed. I particularly love my tree. Thanks for the coordinates. I will certainly love to do this again. All the best going forward. '
Dale De Villiers

'What a truly wonderful experience - only 3 days, 2 nights but a world away from life (albeit marvellous!) in the city. Amazing value - notable pizzas (courtesy of Billy), mugs of coffee to ease our way, an attractive and well written book for the shelves, huge amounts of incredibly fascinating information thanks to Sean and Billy (if only our brains could remember it all!), fantastic company, a tree especially to remember the occasion and those we love, fires, warmth, bird song, deliveries of wine and all sorts to soothe when needed.'
Sue Bevan

'I know we'll all be writing to you as we gave your trail a unanimous thumbs-up - it was a great experience and I am so delighted that we - in the end - opted for the guided trail. Had we not done so, we'd have missed out SO much. To walk in those wonderful surroundings was magic but to have the extra dimension of your knowledge and the much appreciated sense of humour was the cherry on the top!! Thank you again for a great experience and for your care throughout the trail.'
Jane Hutchings

'A huge thank you to for an experience of a lifetime, walking in the magnificent fynbos and forests of your Walker Bay Fynbos Conservancy. We loved every minute of it. What a privilege to be able to soak up the wisdom and knowledge of decades of research into the fascinating world of fynbos - all in the space of three days! Our eyes were opened to a whole new window on the world, and our heads are still abuzz with all the wonderful stories and amazing facts. And what a treat to have a signed copy of Sean's Field Guide which will be a constant companion on all our fynbos hikes from now on. It will be a treasured memento of our trip and reminder of the fascinating fynbos journey we encountered! Thank you so much, too, for the delicious banana bread on arrival and sumptuous lunch on day two. We felt like royalty as we were handed from one personalised guide to the next and treated to all the delicious fare along our trail!'
Brenda Scott

'Thank you so much for the last few days on the Fynbos Trail. We loved every moment of it, and were totally captivated by the flora - and the stories you told about them. What a great privilege to have such expert guides! My knowledge of fynbos has taken a huge leap forward! We also very much enjoyed the overnight stops, the forest lunches, and the welcome drinks each day - Billy's iced rooibos tea followed by the best pizzas in the world, Michelle's ginger beer, Bhodi Khaya's sweet melon juice... Topped off by a swim and delicious lunch at the Lodge.'
Barbara Mutch

'Thank you all for your graciousness, love and caring on what turned out to be the loveliest trail of our lives. We were so fortunate just being the two of us and being able to take time photographing so many lovely flowers and enjoying all your stories Sean and Billy.'
Lilli Paterson

'Thank you both so very much for a truly awesome, exhilarating and informative experience. The Fynbos Trail!!. Without a doubt Sean, you have no equal in your passion, expertise and in your endeavour to foster, grow and share this knowledge you have with others. A special thanks for the gift " A Field Guide to the Flora of Grootbos Nature Reserve", it shall remain a fondly treasured reminder of the special folk we met and an unbelievable Garden of Eden in the Wild experience. '
Barry Cox

'Thank you for organizing a wonderful hike for our family. Everyone really enjoyed it. The accommodation was perfect, the food great and the scenery beautiful. We especially appreciated the "little extras" that you so thoughtfully included - like the treasure hunt and prizes for the kids, the field guide of the flora found on the Grootbos reserve and sending the vehicles out to collect those who did not want to walk in the rain - which was just enough to make things interesting but not miserable. This is the best value for money trail that we have experienced.'
Glenda Williams

'We enjoyed ourselves so much - I've come out of it with a massive sense of awe for the way nature works, and how delicate the balances are between plants and animals within an ecosystem. Amazing!'
Mary Starkey

'By far the best slackpacking trail I've done. The guiding was excellent; the food innovative, fresh and tasty; the company very entertaining and the champagne...well, let's just say it went down well. Thanks Billy, Sean, Colleen and Michelle for such a stimulating time. BEST OF ALL: the fynbos flowers donned their flawless beauty all the way along the trail - despite the rain. Stupendously beautiful and just perfect.'
Roelien Theron

'Oh what a joy it was to do the Fynbos Hike. The most memorable 3 days of my life so far, and I am 71. We all loved it and want to return for sure. We were treated like royalty, and I didn't use my washing up gloves once lol. I have looked through the flower book several times and it all comes back, the good times not the long uphills which I thought would never end. But that's old hikers for you, not fond of long uphills. But the views at the top all made it worthwhile. Even the rain didn't bother me. I keep wondering if the sun had been out how many more flowers there would have been to take pics of. Then we would never have got to the end that day. So again, thank you all for the wonderful holiday we had. You are all such lovely kind caring people, do so hope you get many many more visitors and can keep going for ever!'
Rosemary Paul

'I would rate this trail as the best Fynbos interpretive trail by far'
Leon Hugo

'I think that Fynbos Trail has the potential to become one of the best and most recognised in SA, being the place people come to who are really interested in understanding what the Cape Floral Kingdom is all about.'

Thank you Michelle for all your prompt replies to our emails, for the full explanations, for being able to accommodate all our different needs and for providing such a delicious picnic at our lunch spot on the second day. It is certainly the best we have had on a trail and a great change from compressed sandwiches! Sean , thank you so much for so much..for guiding our walk personally and sharing your wide knowledge and love of the fynbos country you live in. We have done ten years of hikes with this particular group and we all felt it was at the top of our lists for quality of experience.'
Peter and Alice Wilkes

'It was a really special walk through the most beautiful Fynbos in an area that I'd never been to. I'd really love to do the whole trail next time and as I have very keen hiking children and friends, I hope it won't be too long before we do it again. Well done and thank you again'
Helen Beatty

'Many thanks for truely magical trail and thanks also for the photos. It was perfectly organised for our group, with just the right amount of walking, lovely places to stay and such lovely environment to walk in. Sean, your discussions on the plants were truely inspirational and made the hike just so very much better than I had expected. As I said, I would like to come again in.'

The fynbos was beautiful, the wine tasting was great and a nice treat, the survivor type lunch on day two was a feast in a magic spot and the lunch at Grootbos was magnificent - wow! Even the rain and getting drenched didn't spoil our fun. A real getaway and comfy. Somehow there was just the right mix of everything and it worked like a charm.'
Colette Stott

'The trail was truly wonderful - so much more than we ever expected and with every detail catered for. I am especially grateful for all your extra efforts in catering for my gluten allergy. I didn’t have to miss out on an'

'When the accolades grow - as they must ultimately do - for the feat accomplished by Sean in establishing the Fynbos Trail then most hikers and flower lovers-local and international will learn of this gem on Cape Town's outskirts. Untill then it rests with me-on behalf of The Alter Kakker Group to thank Sean and his team of supporters for a most memorable experience and pleasant 3 day hike. The attention to detail in construction of the trail and efforts by Sean and Billy to show it to best advantage speak of a passion to their cause which must be experienced by all nature lovers. From Sean's painstaking efforts to educate us in the field of fynbos and other flora in plain language to the quality of the overnight accommodations this has been an experience that cannot be too highly recommended.'

'I think the only time i have experienced such t.l.c was in i.c.u after an op. Sean was the most courteous and obliging and fielded the million questions which came your way, literally took them in your stride (if you will permit me another pun!). oh that i can recall some of the details of nature which you shared with us to relate to my sons and grandkids and friends. I trust i will use your "GROOTBOS NATURE RESERVE" book as a reference for recall? It would help to humble them all so much more. The big guy upstairs sure knew what HE was about when he planted his garden. Mathew, if and when you get up to speed with the guitar, let me know and we can get back to work on that song i sang to you. You're a great guy and fun to be with , and remember, "never throw stones at your mother..'

'It was a glorious trail, and having Sea'’s knowledge of the fynbos, trees and the environment to hand with us on it, added so much. But you both were so good to us and had thought out the details of it so well. That showed in all kinds of both big and little things, and the time at Bodi Khaya was a treat. I've been re-living it looking at Sean's Field Guide to Grootbos - now that’s a wonderful book, and I'm so pleased to have a copy. All strength to your elbows - may you and your trails prosper.'

'A special weekend to be remembered forever! We will certainly spread the word and wish you all great success with your venture. Attention to detail was exceptional and everyone agreed it was true value for money '

'On behalf of us all in the “Crazy Whiskey” group a huge Thank You to you and your team for your kindness and for an unforgettable experience in the Fynbos! With no doubt, we had loads of Fun on the hike and also definitely took home an enrichment of interesting information on the Cape’s Fauna and Flora. The tree-planting project was the highlight for most of us.'

'Looking back on our days of your company and hospitality, mountain ridges, ancient forests, secret swimming places and swathes of flowers shy and bold with many attendant disperser creatures, we feel very privileged to have enjoyed all that you shared with us so generously. We were greatly enriched by Sean and Billy's deep fund of knowledge and stories of the wild bush, and the many special touches (wine tasting by starlight, bush drinks, lunch spread in shade when were hot and tired, tea by the waterfall, sunglasses retrieval service, gift of honey and field guide and so much more) - we are already spreading the word to friends, and talking of coming again in the winter.'
