Welcome to The Fynbos Trail

The Fynbos trail is a unique nature experience in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom that can be undertaken as a fully guided and catered slackpacking trail or as a self-guided and catered trail. This trail, just two hours from Cape Town and close to Hermanus Overberg, has a two or three night option and takes hikers along a beautiful stretch of trail through coastal and mountain fynbos, remote forests and visits some fascinating environmental and social projects along the way. Ideal for those looking for a walking holiday in Cape Town, South Africa.

What are people saying

Many thanks to all of you for this fantastic experience! The whole arrangement was very well and carefully planned with good walking trails, fine accommodations and very delicious food. Nina's organization was perfect! Billy's guiding was really very excellent. He has a good knowledge of both the flora and fauna of the fynbos. We felt he was deeply rooted in this part of Western Cape and could tell a lot of interesting and humorous stories. Your book, Sean, will refresh our memory when looking of all our photos as well as learning more of the fynbos flora. Also, your catching enthusiasm gave us a desire to stay longer and learn more about all the projects. The wine tasting and dinner in your home, Sean and Michelle, was great and real hospitality. In the end the grand finale with a fine dining lunch at Grootbos Nature Lodge! For us coming from northern Europe it was especially interesting walking through the fynbos. Wishing all of you the best luck for the future, we really hope to be back sooner than later. [Option 1]
